WK45: Zelda Returns, GTA VI Loads Up and EA Opens the Archives

Ocarina of Time returns on Switch 2, GTA VI demands 212GB of PS5 space and EA revives 25 PC classics. Plus Xbox updates, Game Pass and Valhalla.

    1. Ocarina of Time returns to Hyrule

Nintendo has released The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time exclusively for Switch 2. This reimagining of the 1998 classic brings refreshed visuals, voiced cutscenes, symphonic music and reworked controls, introducing Link’s time-travelling adventure to a new generation.

Wisky’s Tasting NotesRemaking a game this beloved must be a daunting exercise. Make too many changes and you upset the purists. Change too little and everyone wonders why you bothered.

    2. GTA VI needs 212GB of your PlayStation storage

Grand Theft Auto VI launches on 19 November, with PS5 pre-downloads beginning 10 November for eligible pre-orders. PlayStation recommends clearing at least 212GB of storage before downloading the game.

Wisky’s Tasting NotesAt 212GB, deciding what to delete from your console might be the hardest mission you face before GTA VI even starts.

    3. EA brings 25 PC classics back from the dead

Electronic Arts has returned 25 classic PC games to Steam, including Road Rash, Wing Commander, Ultima and Theme Hospital. Seven receive Anniversary Editions, with modern compatibility improvements designed to preserve their original character.

Wisky’s Tasting NotesThere's something reassuring about a publisher remembering it has a back catalogue worth preserving. Hopefully this encourages more companies to revisit their archives rather than leaving great games stranded on obsolete hardware.

    4. Xbox promises a faster PC experience

Microsoft has introduced a redesigned Xbox PC app for Xbox Insiders, claiming launch times up to 60% faster in its own testing. Improved library navigation, search and social features accompany broader interface updates for Xbox Cloud Gaming on supported devices.

The improvements are rolling out in stages, so they are not available to everyone yet.

    5. Game Pass gets another varied November lineup

Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School arrived on 5 November, bringing cooperative escape-room puzzles into an open world. Vampire Crawlers and Void/Breaker also joined eligible Game Pass tiers, while Warhammer Survivors arrives on 10 November.

It is another varied selection, particularly for subscribers who enjoy discovering smaller games rather than waiting exclusively for blockbuster releases.

    6. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla gets another reason to revisit England

Ubisoft released a free update for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on 5 November, adding New Game Plus, progression improvements and upgraded PSSR upscaling for PS5 Pro.

It is a substantial addition to a game originally released in 2020, offering returning players new ways to experience Eivor’s adventure.

Wisky’s Tasting NotesSix years later and Valhalla is still receiving meaningful improvements. Not every older game needs another remaster when its developers can simply make the version we already own better.
